This cheats Instant Pot Spaghetti is the perfect way to cook a lovely family meal with a bit less effort!

So, I don’t really know why I call this ‘Cheats’ Instant Pot Spaghetti because, as much as I love cooking from scratch, I’m an advocate of taking any shortcuts that make your life easier and if you’re short on time or energy then I’m all for using jars, ready meals and anything else that you can use to help you get food on the table.

So, to be clear, this recipe does use a ready-made jar of pasta sauce but that does mean that it takes barely any prep time on your part so I think it’s absolutely worth it! I do sometimes use a batch of my own homemade tomato sauce but usually not. 😂

Cheats Instant Pot Spaghetti

Name: Cheats Instant Pot Spaghetti
Prep time: 5 min
Cook time: 25 min
Total time: 30 min
Ingredients: 1 tablespoon olive oil; 500g minced beef; A couple of pinches of salt; 1 teaspoon garlic powder; 2 cups water (1 cup = 230ml); 1 600g jar ready-made tomato-based pasta sauce; 250g dry spaghetti, snapped in half; (Optional} Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Cook Time: 25 minutes

Total Time: 30 minutes

Instant Pot Spaghetti is super simple to make and tastes amazing!

Ingredients

1  tablespoon olive oil
500g minced beef
A couple of pinches of salt
1 teaspoon garlic powder
2 cups water (1 cup = 230ml)
1  600g jar ready-made tomato-based pasta sauce
250g dry spaghetti, snapped in half
(Optional} Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Instructions

Set the Instant Pot to Sauté mode.
Once it's heated up add in the oil, mince, salt and garlic powder, and seasonings. Brown the meat and break up into smaller pieces.
Turn off the sauté mode and add ½ cup of water. With a wooden spoon, scrape the bottom of the Instant Pot to make sure any remaining residue of the meat is off - basically the brown bits on the bottom.
Pour over the jar of tomato sauce (keep the jar to one side) and give it a good mix.
Spread the spaghetti in an even layer over the top of the meat mixture but do not stir.
Add in the remaining 1.5 cups of water. (Before you add it, pour some of the water in the pasta sauce jar, close the lid, and shake well. This way you get every bit of sauce!) Again, resist the temptation to stir it.
Pop the lid on the Instant Pot and close the seal.
Cook on High Pressure for 8 minutes.
Once it's done so a quick release by opening the valve (making sure to use a hot pad or towel to protect yourself from the hot steam).
Stir everything well and serve it into your dishes!
Top with grated parmesan cheese.
